Part of the Progression series:

Quick Answer

  • Servers are called Nations, and Camel merges 2–3 of them together to counter population decay — typically starting when a Nation is a bit over a year old.
  • Merge partners are chosen on age, active logins, event win ratios, and — most heavily — spending balance: two big-spending Nations don't get merged together.
  • You'll get an official notice roughly 1–2 weeks ahead (in-game mail/email); pre-merge, the Nations run a Chaosland event, and the top-ranked Nation becomes the surviving one.
  • Merge day means 3–6 hours of downtime, Deep Mining closed, and name conflicts resolved first-come-first-served.
  • There is no official public merger list — lists reach players by mail, and the community republishes them. Treat any "merger list 2026" page as community-sourced.

Why Mergers Happen (and Why They're Good News)

Every server-based war game bleeds population, and a Nation with three active alliances is a Nation where Void War is a formality and the uranium economy — which literally requires 30 level-30 cities Nation-wide — stalls. Merging refills the map.

Veterans mostly welcome mergers: fresh rivals, functioning cross-Nation events, live territory politics again. The players who dread them are usually big fish in dying ponds — and the honest advice is that the pond was the problem.

How Camel Picks Who Merges With Whom

No fixed formula is published, but the observed factors are consistent: Nation age, number of active players, Frenzy/Void event win ratios, and above all spending — Camel deliberately avoids merging two high-spending Nations into one another, balancing whale density across the map. Expect your merge partner to be roughly your Nation's economic mirror, not its twin.

Merges come in waves — one documented wave covered 24 world merges at once — so when merger season starts, it's usually industry-wide, not personal.

The Merge Process, Step by Step

  1. The notice. An official email/in-game notice lands roughly one to two weeks out. (Delivery has been imperfect historically — some waves saw notices arrive late — so alliance chat often knows before your inbox does.)
  2. Chaosland. The merging Nations run a pre-merge Chaosland event, and here's the part worth sweating: the Nation ranked #1 becomes the "settled" Nation — the surviving map everyone else moves into, with everyone else's cities randomly redistributed onto it. This is the one week your whole Nation genuinely pulls one direction, and since troops can't die in Chaosland, there's no excuse to sit it out — full playbook in the Chaosland guide.
  3. Merge day. Expect 3–6 hours of downtime; Deep Mining closes for the day (collect your uranium beforehand).
  4. Name conflicts. Duplicate commander names: first to log in keeps the name; latecomers become "Commander‹ID›" until renamed. Duplicate alliance names get numbered suffixes. If your name matters to you, be online early.
  5. Compensation. Make-good items arrive by in-game mail within about five days after the merge.

Where the "Merger Lists" Come From

Search for "merger list" and you'll find dated community posts listing which Nations merge in a given wave. Understand the sourcing: Camel publishes no official public list — announcements go to affected players by mail, and community sites and YouTubers republish and compile them. Those lists are genuinely useful for confirming rumors, but they're secondhand by definition; the notice in your mailbox (and the official Discord) is the authority for your Nation.

Preparing Your Account for a Merge

  • Fight Chaosland like it matters — it does. Landing in the surviving Nation with the winner's momentum beats arriving as the absorbed side.
  • Shield through the chaos window. A merge dumps strangers onto your map with no diplomatic history; the first post-merge days play like a soft kill event until politics settle.
  • Expect alliance realignment. Merged maps trigger recruitment wars, absorptions, and new coalitions — the choosing-an-alliance criteria apply fresh, and it's a rare legitimate window to trade up.
  • Log in early on merge day for your name, then check mail daily for compensation.
  • Don't panic-spend before the merge. Your account transfers whole; the only thing a merge resets is the neighborhood.
